Although eczema and psoriasis are both conditions, they are not the same and have their differences. A main difference is that the skin conditions will appear in different places on the body, eczema can be found on the face and the inside of the knees and elbow, whereas psoriasis is not found in these places. It is always best to get clinical advice if you are unsure if your skin condition is eczema or psoriasis. Our questionnaire requests a photo upload of the affected skin area, and our clinical team can assist with this diagnosis.
It is difficult to give one cause of the skin condition, and multiple factors can attribute to psoriasis appearing on your body. These can be genetic and environmental factors such as stress or side effects of certain medications.
The most common treatment options are a range of topical creams, ointments, foams and gels.
Psoriasis is not contagious. It cannot be passed on by contact or touch to another person.
With skin conditions such as psoriasis, it is best to explore options and see what works best for you. There are many different treatment options available, and you can discuss alternative options with a member of our clinical team via a video appointment or with your own GP.
